Why Tourniquets Matter

Severe bleeding can cause death in as little as 3-5 minutes. In that window, first responders haven’t arrived yet. The reality is that most lives saved from major bleeding are saved by bystanders – people who cared enough to be ready.

Old thinking said only medical professionals should use tourniquets. New evidence proves that ordinary citizens can stop life-threatening bleeding with simple tools and a willingness to help.

What Hold My TQ Is Asking

Hold My Tourniquet Logo

We’re not asking you to be a medic.
We’re asking you to be ready.

Keep a tourniquet in your purse, vehicle, backpack, or work desk. That simple act could save a life. It’s about putting life-saving tools where life happens – homes, schools, neighborhoods, and cars.

A Real-Life Scenario

You witness a terrible car accident. Another bystander, an off-duty nurse, calls out for a tourniquet and packing gauze for one of the accident victims.

You remember the kit in your trunk your grandson gifted you last year. Rushing to the trunk, you grab your kit, and hand it to the nurse who begins life-saving care within moments.

That’s the mission of Hold My TQ. You may not need to perform the care to make the care possible – but you’re a hero nonetheless.
